How to Use the Today in History Packets:
This today in history packet makes a great morning work activity for students to complete. Students can come in the classroom and learn an interesting fact about the planet Ceres, compete a reading comprehension activity about the history of the dwarf planet Ceres as well as complete a handwriting or creative writing activity based on what they learned.
Additionally, display items are included if the teacher wishes to display a poster about the fact of the day or a smaller timeline card that the teacher can place on a timeline with other "today in history" activities.
This packet can also be used as a stand alone activity. Even though these packets are tied to a particular day in this series, they can be used at any time during the year when students are learning about this particular topic.
