Skills Assessed

  • Using nonstandard measurements to measure length
  • Using nonstandard measurements to measure height
  • Using nonstandard measurements to weigh objects.

The task cards, by themselves, are low prep and just need to be printed and cut apart. They can be laminated for durability if desired. By storing the cards and acorns in task boxes, teachers will have an easy to set up and clean up activity. Gathering the necessary materials may take some time, but once gathered, this becomes a fun, hands on math center to practice nonstandard measurements.
